Established in 1992 under the astute visionary Haj Saeed Bin Ahmed Al Lootah under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmed Khan who is the present Dean. The first pharmacy college in the GCC region, committed to provide accredited pharmacy education at undergraduate and graduate level to female students based on values, advancement of pharmaceutical knowledge through research and community service in order to serve pharmacy profession, scientific community and public. We have a diverse student body from over 30 countries world-wide. Programs offered are accredited by the Commission of Academic Accreditation (CAA), Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs, UAE. The campus provides an opportunity to gain well-rounded education in an international environment by highly qualified faculty of different nationality. In our continuous endeavor to improve the quality of our pharmacy programs, DPCG’s Bachelor of Pharmacy program granted International Provisional Certification (Category 1 and 2) by the American Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
DPCG offers Bachelor and Master 's degrees in the field of pharmacy. The academic year starts in September and ends in the third week of July. The Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) program offered extends over four and half academic years and the maximum course duration to complete the degree within a reasonable timeframe of six years. The course includes four years of teaching and one semester exclusively devoted for Advanced Professional Practice Experience (APPE). Other graduate level degrees offered at DPCG include Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) in Clinical Pharmacy for a study period of 2 years. Certificate programs which run for a three-month duration in Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance, are also offered in the institution.
DPCG is a member in International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF). It is an organization that represents pharmaceutical students, pharmacy students and recent graduates from all over the world. IPSF is the leading international advocacy organization for pharmacy students, promoting improved public health through provision of information, education, networking and a range of publications initiatives. DPCG students are actively involved in hosting events and workshops under IPSF portfolios.
