Dr. Naglaa Gamil Shehab is a Professor in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at Dubai Pharmacy College for Girls, UAE, and a Professor in the Pharmacognosy Department at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University, Egypt. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1991, her Master's in Pharmacognosy in 1999, and her PhD in 2004, all from Cairo University. Dr. Naglaa was promoted to Professor at Dubai Pharmacy College for Girls in 2015 and at Cairo University in 2018. With over 30 years of teaching experience, she has held various leadership positions in both institutions, including Head of the Admission Committee, Student Affairs, Curriculum Development, Faculty Development, and Research Unit. She also served as Chief Academic Officer at Dubai Pharmacy College for Girls and finally as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, at Dubai Pharmacy College for Girls.
Dr. Naglaa is a member of the American Society of Pharmacognosy and holds certifications in nutrition and health. She introduced a pioneering course on "Natural Medicines, Safety, and Efficacy" at Dubai Pharmacy College, which focuses on drug-herb interactions and supplement quality control, a first of its kind in the Arab region. Her role as Associate Dean of Academic Affairs has provided her with extensive experience in community, industrial, and hospital training, enabling her to collaborate effectively with training heads at Dubai Pharmacy College.
Dr. Naglaa has received prestigious research awards from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Amsterdam in the field of Natural Products. She has been recognized among the top two thousand scientists in the UAE. As a reviewer for numerous international journals in natural products, she has published over 40 scientific papers in impact factor journals. To continuously advance her career, she regularly participates in workshops, seminars, webinars, and conferences in the field of education.
