Dubai Pharmacy College Students Drive Change with Diabetes Awareness Campaign
The Public Health Committee of DPCSU-IPSF led an impactful Diabetes Awareness Campaign, uniting students, faculty, and staff for a day dedicated to health education and screening. With the active support of clinical pharmacists, lecturers, and fourth-year pharmacy students, the event offered health checks alongside practical guidance on diabetes prevention.
In just two hours, a total of 85 participants were screened. During the screenings, the team identified an individual for further investigation for diabetes/prediabetes.
Fourth-year pharmacy students, supervised by healthcare professionals, engaged in conducting tests and sharing preventive care tips. It was an overall very positive experience for students in being advocates for their patients and for their pharmacy profession.
