Dubai Medical University: The first and only entry-to-practice 6-year Pharm D Program in UAE
On March 11, 2025, the Ministry of Higer Education & Scientific Research, Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) approved the first 6-year entry-to-practice Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program in UAE. Accordingly, Dubai Medical University College of Pharmacy is scheduled to receive its first intake of PharmD students straight from high school in September 2025. This is a historic moment that will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the pharmacy profession in the country.
Vice Chancellor & Dean Sherief Khalifa commented: " We believe that this breakthrough will propagate to other Colleges of Pharmacy in the country and is expected to have a marked effect on the quality of pharmacy graduates, the scope of practice and on societal health in the UAE".
