Vision

The DMCG/DPCG Library aspires to support the education and research program of the college of medicine and college of pharmacy with the highest standard and diversified services.

Mission

The mission of the library is to provide quality materials and services that fulfill the educational, informational, and recreational needs of the entire college students, faculty members, and other people associated with the colleges in an atmosphere that is welcoming, respectful, and user-friendly. Since its inception, the library has continued to make rapid progress and now it is a premier knowledge hub equipped with the latest ICT tools and technologies.

About Library

The Learning Resource Centre (Library) is located on the ground floor, Hall No G-5, Seed Ahmad Lootah Charity Foundation Building of the College with 304.5 square meter-built area. The LRC contains adequate space conducive for study and research with ample ventilation and lighting. LRC accommodates 2 staff offices, one circulation counter, two group study/meeting areas equipped with multimedia screens, 5 single study rooms for the students equipped with the latest desktop computers. The total seating capacity of the library is 62.

The library contains sufficient and appropriate equipment, including 19 internet-connected computers for library users and 3 computers for staff.  A self-operated high-quality photocopier/printer/scanner is available for the library users. Multimedia Screen is available for the library orientations/training. High speed Wi-Fi is available for users to connect their own devices to use the library e-resources. SPSS is available on 12 library computers for researchers to use for their research purposes.

Print Collection

The library’s rich print collection contains 4100+ print titles of books with multiple copies, classified and cataloged according to international norms, housed, and arranged appropriately on 44 bookshelves. The library updates its collection regularly to provide the latest resources to the students and faculty members. The library is using the Follett Destiny library management system to automate library routines and procedures like cataloging, circulation, reporting, patron management, and online public access catalog (OPAC) 24/7 availability. Electronic Collection

The library's e-collection contains 4000+ e-books and over 2300+ e-journals. The most trusted evidence- based, physician-authored clinical decision support resources are available to assist clinicians with point-of-care decisions. Access to drug information databases and interactive tools that empower clinicians to make the best possible evidence-based drug treatments are also available.

Library at DMCG/DPCG serves as a hub of academic exploration and intellectual growth. Inside, the DMCG/DPCG library boasts a meticulously organized array of resources, from towering shelves of books to digital archives accessible through rows of computer terminals. Comfortable reading areas and study nooks offer spaces for solitary reflection or collaborative work, while quiet study rooms equipped with multimedia facilities cater to group projects and presentations.

The infrastructure is designed for efficiency, and the DMCG/DPCG library is equipped with a range of specialized facilities to provide a comprehensive learning experience. Expert librarians are on hand to assist students in navigating the vast array of resources available, offering guidance and support in their academic endeavors.
