Library Study Room Guidelines
DMU Library Study Room Guidelines for faculty and students
- Group study rooms are designed to provide a comfortable working space for DMU Faculty and Students.
- Group study rooms and individual study rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Any booking will be for the next available time slot and room. Requests for specific rooms cannot be honored. Same day in-house reservations only. No reservations by phone.
- Study rooms are available for a two-hour period. Each patron or group is allowed one booking per day. A booked pattern using a study room may continue to use the room after their two-hour time expires but will be asked to leave if another pattern books the room.
- Room bookings can be made at the information desk and are on a first come, first served basis.
- There is a 5-minute grace period for a booked pattern to show up and check in to the room. If the pattern has not checked in within this grace period, the room will be considered available, and the booking will be forfeited.
- These rooms are intended for “quiet study.” The rooms are not sound-proof and loud voices will carry out into the library. Please remember that all library and behavior policies apply to the study rooms as well.
- A University ID card is required to book single or group study room.
- To secure a reservation, the group should contain a minimum of 3 users.
- No food is allowed. Only drinks in spill-proof containers are allowed.
- Please do not leave any valuables unattended, library will not be held responsible for any loss.
- Study rooms must be vacated 15 minutes before the library closes. Library staff reserves the right to deny the use of a quiet study room to anyone who fails to adhere to the above rules and restrictions
- Rooms are for collaborative study only and failure to return the space to its original or satisfactory position may result in loss of privileges to make future bookings.
